Overview
KillAI (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is a Chrome extension that filters AI-generated and bot content on YouTube. We designed KillAI to be privacy-first: filtering runs locally in your browser, and we do not sell your personal data.
Information we process
KillAI may process the following categories of information, primarily on your device:
- YouTube page content — titles, thumbnails, channel names, descriptions, and comments visible on pages you visit, used only to detect and hide or mark suspected AI/bot content.
- Extension settings — filter preferences, whitelist/blacklist entries, and related options stored via Chrome storage.
- Detection history & stats — optional local records of filtered items and usage statistics kept on your device.
- Community reports — if you mark content as AI or not AI, reports (including a locally generated anonymous ID and video ID) are stored on your device.
- License data — if you purchase Premium, your license key and related activation status may be stored locally so the extension can unlock features.
What we do not collect
- We do not require you to create a KillAI account.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking pixels in the extension.
- We do not upload your YouTube browsing history to KillAI servers for advertising or profiling.
Where data lives
Detection and filtering run locally in Chrome. Settings and related data remain in your browser’s extension storage unless you export them yourself.
Purchases are processed by Gumroad. When you buy a license, Gumroad’s privacy practices apply to checkout and payment information.
Permissions
KillAI requests Chrome permissions needed to operate:
- storage — save settings, lists, license cache, and local stats.
- alarms — schedule lightweight background maintenance.
- Host access to YouTube — read and modify YouTube pages so filtering can run as you browse.
Third parties
Beyond Gumroad for payments, YouTube (Google) remains governed by Google’s own policies when you use their site. KillAI does not control Google’s data practices.
Data retention & your choices
- You can change or clear filter settings, lists, and local history from the KillAI dashboard.
- You can export or import settings as a JSON file.
- Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage according to Chrome’s normal behavior.
Children
KillAI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of KillAI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
